Meeting your invisible braces

You’ll basically wear your invisible braces every moment of every day and night for a minimum of 22 hours. The only time they’ll be taken is out is when you have meals and drinks. That’s how often you have to wear them – but don’t worry, you’ll get used to it!

Your invisible braces are transparent and clear – so no one can see them. They work silently to help you get your dream smile.

Although it’s important to take note that whenever you’re not wearing your invisible braces, you’re letting your teeth shift back to their old position. Wear your invisible braces as instructed for the best results.

Rinse and repeat

Remember when we mentioned that you have to take your invisible braces out before you start eating and drinking? But, when you slide them back in – you’ll need to rinse them to keep them clean and transparent.

This will be part of a routine for you during your teeth straightening process. It seems like a hassle but it’s very important that you do not skip this step.

You’ll be watching the calendar

You will have to change your invisible braces pair every two weeks as you won’t be wearing the same pair throughout your entire smile transformation.

Remember to keep track on the calendar as changing out your invisible braces at the right time is important to ensure that your teeth straightening progresses smoothly and you get the best results.

Pain is part of the process

While you are wearing your invisible braces, you may experience some discomfort and pain. It is totally normal.

This is because the aligners move your teeth and your teeth don’t like being shifted around. But the pain is good. It means that your aligner process is working – after all the common saying is no pain, no gain.

However, if the pain continues to worsen – please reach out to our smile consultants and they’ll be happy to help.

Meeting your post-straightening BFF – Retainers

Once you’ve completed all your invisible braces sets, you will need to consistently wear your retainers. We know it’s tedious having to wear another contraption in your mouth even after you’re done with your become teeth straightening but this is crucial!

Without reminding your teeth to stay put, they’ll shift back to their old position, thus changing your smile back to the old one.

For the first 6 months after your aligners, you’ll be wearing your retainers all the time. After that, you will only need to wear your retainers at night.

Ready to get started?

We’ve explained it all and now it’s your turn to start your smile journey! Take our smile assessment to find out how to get this whole thing moving.

How to care for your invisible braces

Everyone needs a little TLC – and so do your invisible braces. As you’ll be wearing your invisible braces pretty much all the time, we’re here to give you some tips on how to take care of them so they stay clean, clear and comfortable to wear!

Rinse and Repeat

The only time you’ll remove your invisible braces is when you eat, drink and brush your teeth. Before putting your them back into your mouth, rinse your invisible braces with cold water to keep them clean. This will prevent dried saliva from building up on the invisible braces, which can cause bacteria to form. Keep your mouth healthy by keeping your invisible braces clean. However, avoid rinsing your invisible braces in hot water. The high heat can damage the plastic and ruin your invisible braces.

Brush & Floss before wearing

After you eat, make sure to brush and floss your teeth before putting your invisible braces back in. If you don’t, food particles can get trapped between your invisible braces and your teeth, which can lead to dental problems. Remember, a clean mouth is a happy mouth – plus you don’t want that piece of spinach stuck in your teeth for the world to see 😉

Clean with soap, not toothpaste.

To clean your invisible braces, remember to use clear antibacterial soap and not toothpaste. Toothpaste can be abrasive against the thermoplastic, which may scratch your invisible braces – and coloured antibacterial soaps may stain your invisible braces into a different colour. We know that invisible braces are favoured for their transparency and scratches can be easily visible when wearing them on your teeth. So keep them transparent and clear by cleaning them the proper way!

Keep it in

When you take your invisible braces off to eat and drink, remember to store them away in the storage capsule included with your invisible braces set. Leaving your invisible braces in the open exposes them to harmful germs and bacteria – and you also risk misplacing them by accident!

Invisible braces can be a great way to straighten your smile discreetly. Taking the time to properly clean and care for your invisible braces can help smoothen your smile journey to get the smile of your dreams. become makes it easy for you to straighten your smile with invisible braces at 65% less than other methods. Your treatment plan will be prescribed and monitored by our partner dentists so you’ll never have to worry. Take our free 30s Smile Assessment to see if our invisible braces are a good fit for you!

Years After Braces, My Teeth Have Moved Back

Shift happens – and when it does, become will be there for you!

Growing up with crooked teeth was the hardest thing. Well, probably the second hardest thing if you wore metal braces in your teen years. All the clinic visits, the painful wire tightenings, the ulcers, the limitation on food choices, the humiliation – you have persisted through all that, motivated by the rewarding thought of a perfect straight pearly whites you’ll be showing off every time you smile.

10 or 20 years have passed, and now you realise the results don’t last a lifetime. Some of your teeth have returned to their original positions! Looking back, you remember that you were not wearing your retainer diligently following your metal braces removal. Why would you? You’d dealt with chunky metal brackets and wires for two years and you’ve got your teeth straightened, therefore wearing a retainer every night might have seemed unnecessary and cumbersome.

You wished you could time travel and tell your younger self that your retainer was your secret to long-lasting results and without wearing it, your teeth will most likely shift back into place. So is it too late to fix them now? Is there anything you can still do? Do you have to wear braces again?

Don’t worry. Thanks to become, you don’t have to go through the train track braces ordeal again. Our truly invisible braces can re-straighten your smile and there’s a good chance teeth straightening won’t take as long as it did the first time round. They can restore your confidence as fast as in 6 months’ time!

Not just that, we’re making the experience as hassle-free as possible by delivering your full set of customised invisible braces to you. This time around, you no longer have to waste time at the waiting room and traveling to clinic every two weeks for appointments. We also cut the middleman cost to make invisible braces affordable for you!

We trust you to wear your retainers to keep your new realigned smile in place 😉

Chinese New Year Food and Dental Braces Care Guide

Just like any other festivals in Asia, Chinese New Year means hitting the pause button on your diet and indulging in mountains of goodies. Those who are on teeth straightening braces might be a little cautious and fear missing out on good food.

Let’s discuss the common food we consume during Chinese New Year and whether it’s advisable for those who are getting their teeth straightened to indulge in them.

Pineapple tarts and nian gao (sticky rice cake or kuih bakul)

These delicious treats are must-haves during Chinese New Year, and both are sticky in nature. They stick on the surface of your teeth longer, and are more difficult for saliva to break down.

If you are wearing traditional braces, it’s best to avoid sticky food as they can cause wire damage and loosen the brackets. For those wearing invisible braces, brush your teeth and floss carefully before putting them back in.

Juices and carbonated drinks

Beverages with bright colours that represent wealth are typically served during Chinese New Year. Sugar-laden and acidic, they are really bad for teeth. Frequent exposure to acidic drinks can result in the erosion of tooth enamel.

These drinks can stain your invisible braces so remember to take them out before eating and drinking, then brush your teeth before putting them back in. Regardless of the type of braces you’re using, wait at least 30 minutes after drinking to brush your teeth as we don’t want to damage the enamel while it’s in its weakened state.

Hard snacks

Biting down on hard candies, solid chips, nuts or seeds can potentially crack the enamel and dental fillings. It might cause wire damage and loosen brackets too, so it’s best to avoid these snacks altogether if you are wearing traditional braces. For those using invisible braces, use your hands or tools to crack open nuts and seeds, and clean your teeth thoroughly after eating.

Chocolates, cookies and cakes

These 3C’s are sugary treats, hence when we consume them the bad bacteria in our mouth feeds on the sugars, creating acids that attack our tooth enamel. Over time, it will cause caries and tooth decay. So this Chinese New Year, opt for healthier options such as sugar free cookies and dark chocolates. Make it a point to rinse your mouth with water immediately after eating these sweets. If you are wearing traditional braces, remember to brush thoroughly to remove any remnants not just from your teeth, but from the wires, brackets and orthodontic adhesive as well.

Clearly, invisible braces are a great way to straighten your smile without limiting your food choices especially during festivals and special ocassion. become makes it easy for you to straighten your smile with invisible braces at 65% less than other methods.
